For Parents

Supporting your child or teen through anxiety, depression, stress, or big emotional changes can feel overwhelming. Therapy can be a helpful space for them to build tools, increase self-awareness, and develop resilience—all while feeling seen, heard, and supported by someone outside of the family system.

I work collaboratively with parents and caregivers, especially at the beginning of therapy, to understand the bigger picture and discuss goals for treatment. Depending on your teen’s age and developmental needs, I’ll include you in ways that feel respectful and appropriate—while still protecting the trust and confidentiality I build with your child.

What You Can Expect as a Parent

Initial parent consultation to gather background information and discuss goals

• Ongoing check-ins (as appropriate) to share updates and collaborate on strategies

• Support around parenting strategies if your child’s symptoms are affecting family dynamics

• Clear communication if safety concerns arise or if additional support is needed

Building a Safe and Engaging Space

Therapy for teens isn’t just talk. I incorporate developmentally appropriate techniques like:

• Visual tools

• Interactive worksheets

• Art and expressive activities

• CBT-based exercises and emotion regulation strategies

• Hands-on tools from the comfort menu (fidgets, coloring, kinetic sand, etc.)

This helps create a space where your child doesn’t just talk about what they’re going through—but also learns how to manage it in a real and tangible way.

Wondering if Therapy is the Right Fit Right Now?

I offer a free 15-minute consultation to learn more about your child’s needs and answer any questions you might have. Whether your teen is new to therapy or returning after a break, I’d be honored to support them.
